Since the 1950s, the Green Hornet Pub in Pointe-Claire has anchored the corner of Milroy Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard.

It closed last December and Global News has now learned the building will be demolished – but there’s a mystery surrounding what will go up in its place.

The owner of the land, Khoury Construction, has applied for a permit to build condos in the area.

Financial news and insights delivered to your email every Saturday.

Many nearby residents said Khoury bought about half a dozen adjacent properties as well.

The possible condo project at the Green Hornet is still being mulled over by Pointe-Claire officials, who wouldn’t comment to Global News on the development plans.

Residents living near Highway 20, whose properties were not bought, said they worry their property values will erode as construction goes on.

Residents said they hope the city doesn’t approve the project without stipulating that the developer has to buy them out too.
