UPDATE: B.C. Coroners Service has identified the hiker as 30-year-old Heather Davis of Vancouver.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating a fatal fall in Squamish this morning.
A 30-year-old woman was out hiking with her boyfriend on the Al Habrich Trail above the Squamish Gondola when she fell about 20 metres yesterday afternoon.
The trail is described as the Sea-to-Sky’s “flagship backcountry hiking trail” with epic views of Howe Sound and the level of difficulty, according to the Sea-to-Sky Gondola’s website, is rated as advanced (backcountry).

Witnesses tell Global News the couple had stopped for lunch when the woman somehow slipped and fell off the ledge they were sitting on.
Barb McLintock with the coroners service said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Since the investigation is still in the early stages there is no other information available at this time.
