Calgarians cannot seem to catch a break in the weather department.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday regarding significant rainfall for parts of Alberta.
There is a low pressure system in the northwestern United States that has moved into southern Alberta, and it is expected to dump as much as 50 mm of rain on the Canadian side of the border.

The statement goes as far north as Rocky Mountain House and Caroline, south to Claresholm, west to Banff National Park and includes the city of Calgary.
Rain began just before noon in Calgary and started to bring some thunderstorms into the city by 7:00 p.m. Environment Canada added a severe thunderstorm warning for the city around 7:10 p.m.
Some areas of the province will stay dry and warm. Medicine Hat will see sunshine for the start of Sunday with a high of 30 degrees Celsius.
August is typically the third wettest month in Calgary, and as of Friday there has already been 25.5 mm of rain. That is about 45 percent of the monthly average.
The bad news is, after an incredibly wet July, more rain is possible in Calgary over the next seven days.
