Abbotsford Police are investigating a suspicious case involving two teenage girls who may have ingested GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate), also known as the date rape drug.
On Sunday, July 31, a 16-year-old girl had been found wandering alone by some Good Samaritans, who then managed to get her to her home.
The girl had gone out with her 14-year-old friend earlier in the evening but the two had become separated.
One of the 16-year-old’s parents found the 14-year-old girl nearby. She also appeared intoxicated and showed symptoms of consuming GHB.
Both girls were treated in hospital and have now been released.
Police believe the girls were in the area of the Matsqui Recreation Centre and skateboard park in the 3100-block of Clearbrook Road between 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 and 1 a.m. on Sunday, July 31.
Police are now investigating and specifically want to speak with the Good Samaritans who helped get the 16-year-old girl home.
