Vernon RCMP seek public’s help finding armed robbery suspect

A woman working at a Vernon gas station was left shaken up after an armed robbery last Tuesday and now police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. at the Petro Canada station on 25th Ave, according to Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

“A man entered the store, produced what appeared to be a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise.”

Noseworthy said the man fled on foot following the robbery.

“Police were on scene within minutes of the crime but the suspect was not located,” Noseworthy said.

The man is described as a Caucasian in his mid-20’s with brown hair and a thin build. Police say he was wearing a Blue Jays baseball cap, a dark jacket, black sweatpants and multicoloured shoes.

Noseworthy said during the incident there weren’t any customers in the store and the female employee wasn’t physically harmed.
