Chelsea Clinton, the only child of Hillary and Bill Clinton, took the stage Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia to introduce her mother as she officially accepted the Democratic nomination.

Though growing up in the public eye, Chelsea had rarely been one to embrace the spotlight. However, she has emerged as a devoted campaigner for her mother and her appearance was much anticipated at the event, as she offered unique insight into Hillary Clinton as a mother and grandmother.

“That feeling – being valued and loved – that’s something my mom wants for every child. It is the calling of her life.”

Chelsea’s introduction was seen by many as an attempt to humanize her mother, who has been labeled as a liar and as “crooked” by her rival Donald Trump.

In the speech, Chlesea described interactions between her own children and their grandmother.

She talked about how her mother loved to FaceTime her 2-year-old granddaughter Charlotte and of “blowing kisses and reading ‘Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo.”‘

The former first daughter also said she’s had a “front-row seat” to watch how Hillary Clinton serves. She described her mom as a diligent public servant who looks for solutions and dives into policy.

Chelsea appealed to voters that there was no one who would fight as hard for them as her mother and that one thing she’s learned from her is that “public service is about service.”

“People ask me all the time, how does she do it? How does she keep going? Here’s how. It’s because she never ever forgets who she’s fighting for.”

Hillary Clinton will face off with Republican nominee Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. Americans head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
