Heating up for the long weekend with a chance of storms.

Saskatoon Forecast

Today

A few fog patches were reported this morning as we dipped to our morning low of 10 degrees around 6 a.m. this morning.

The fog quickly cleared as temperatures warmed up into the low 20s under mostly sunny skies this morning.

We’re expecting a few more clouds to move in through the rest of the day as the mercury rises up to around 27 degrees or so.

Tonight

Mostly clear skies are expected tonight as temperatures drop back to around 12 degrees.

Thursday

Tomorrow looks to be a very similar day to today – starting off with some sunshine with some clouds building in later in the day.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The only difference tomorrow is those clouds will stick around into the evening with a better chance of thundershowers as well.

Our daytime high may be a degree warmer as well, possibly topping out as warm as 28 degrees.

Friday

An upper level feature known as a shortwave trough will help enhance instability bringing in mostly cloudy skies with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms through the day on Friday.

As a result, we’re expecting our daytime high to be a degree or 2 cooler around 26 or 27 degrees.

Long Weekend Outlook

The August long weekend, two-thirds of which is in July, looks like it’ll likely start off with some sunshine on Saturday before we get clouds building in through the day with a decent chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon, evening and overnight into early Sunday morning.

At this point, Sunday and Monday look like they’ll mainly be a mix of sun and cloud with less of a chance of thunderstorms.

Daytime highs could be close to or even into the 30s Saturday and Sunday before cooling back into the mid-20s for Monday as some cooler air starts to sweep through.

There is still quite a bit of discrepancy with the long weekend outlook amongst weather models, but will have a more accurate picture in the next day or so.
