After having lost his anvil, Rigaud blacksmith Michael Appugliese has been reunited with the tool.
Sunday night, he received a call that one of his neighbours had the metal block after it was found by one of their friends.
“He went and knocked on some doors and the first door he knocked on, told him it was mine,” Appugliese said.

The blacksmith retrieved the tool on Monday morning.
He said he was ecstatic to have the anvil returned to him; he had been using a piece of railway to do his work.
“I can finely get back to work and do proper work, not just patching work,” Appugliese said.

As for the shape of the anvil, Appugliese said it’s still the same and nothing was damaged.
The anvil was passed down to him from his father and Appugliese considers it an heirloom.
“I would really love to thank social media, the local news and the Hudson community,” Appugliese said.
