Jared Weaver said he witnessed the crash and called 911.

“We had to make sure everyone was OK,” he said. “There was a few people in distress but there was nothing we could do. We left it in the hands of the trained people.”

Weaver said he is hoping the crash will be a reminder for people to slow down on gravel roads and keep an eye on dust conditions.

“It’s so quiet out here, we never see things like this,” he said. “It really hits us because we take it for granted but we always have to be careful – we just forget sometimes.”
