Lethbridge police said Monday nine-month-old Austin Wright died of blunt force trauma last April.

Officers said family members originally told police the young child had stopped breathing after a medical distress call to a home along the 600 block of 17 Street North on April 28. Police said Wright was in cardiac arrest and was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Monday the fatal trauma he sustained was not consistent with a fall.
