WINNIPEG — A 10-year-old Winnipeg boy was shot in the leg while visiting Middlebro, Manitoba.
It happened on July 21 as the 10-year-old boy and his friend were walking on a trail leading to Road 2 North in the RM of Piney.
While walking, the boy and his friend heard a gunshot.
Moments later, RCMP and ambulance attended the scene after reports a 10-year-old boy had a gunshot wound on his left leg. The boy was taken to a local hospital and then transported to Children’s Hospital at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg for surgery.
RCMP officers went to the hospital to gather evidence and examine the bullet.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
