Fentanyl found on Saskatoon man driving too fast: police

Saskatoon police say a speeding vehicle was stopped on Saturday and the driver was found to be in possession of an illegal drug.

Just after 12:30 p.m. CT, an officer conducted a traffic stop near the Broadway Bridge.

Police said the 27-year-old driver had recently been charged for drug-related offences and had a court-imposed condition that included he submit to a search.

Fentanyl was found during the search, police said.

The man is facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He is in custody and will be brought before a justice of the peace on Sunday.
