TERREBONNE – A 54-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges, following what police have described as a road rage incident in Terrebonne Friday afternoon.

Terrebonne police received an emergency call shortly after 4 p.m. about an injured person on des Seigneurs Boulevard.

As they arrived at the scene, officers located a 37-year-old man covered in blood but still conscious.

He was rushed to hospital with serious upper body injuries.

As of Saturday afternoon, the victim remained hospitalized but was in stable condition.

According to police, the incident stems from a collision between two vehicles on Highway 25 North.

They say, after the collision, an argument broke out when the two vehicles came to a stop in a parking lot on des Seigneurs Boulevard.

That’s when police said the suspect attacked the victim, hitting him with a sharp object.

A 16-year-old was also injured but has since been released from hospital.

The suspect will appear in Saint-Jérôme court Monday, where he faces several charges including attempted murder.
