The
annual Cops for Kids Ride hit the road Friday.
Twenty-two
RCMP officers from South East District put on their cycling gear.
The
team will zig-zag across the south-east part of the province, raising awareness
and funds for children in medical, physical and traumatic crisis.
“It’s
really important to give back to people that have no other means of helping
themselves,” says Constable, Gwen McLennan of Salmon Arm RCMP.
The
950 kilometre journey will see the members stopping in 18 different
communities, covering more than 950 kilometres. It wraps up in Kelowna
September 16th.
