Rescue underway at Cape Split

Nova Scotia RCMP confirm they are assisting fire officials in a rescue at a popular hiking trail.

Police say a group of hikers ventured off the main trail at Cape Split, in the Annapolis Valley, and became stranded in a remote area.

The Canning Fire Department located the group of hikers Saturday evening and are now working with RCMP to figure out how to safely get the hikers out of the area.

Last week, a Dartmouth woman sustained serious injuries after she fell from a cliff at Cape Split while trying to rescue her dogs.
