Montreal Black Community Association target of racist vandalism

MONTREAL – The building that houses the West Island Black Community Association was the target of racist vandalism Tuesday morning.

Vandals spray painted graffiti and the words “PQ rules.”

A note was left in Association’s letter box with racial epithets.

The incident has been reported to police and the note has been handed over to investigators.

The note and graffiti was discovered by WIBCA president Tomacuita James around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

She is the mother of Liberal Families’ Minister Yolande James, the first black woman to be elected to the national assembly.

The WIBCA is a community organization dedicated to the development of youth educational and leadership programming, including day camps, tutoring workshops and sports programming.
