With housing supply in Metro Vancouver low, competition between real estate agents to gain listings is stiff.
There have been reports of realtors aggressively canvassing for potential sellers and now there’s a movement in Vancouver to set up a block watch for aggressive realtors.
“We did have historically a block watch program in the city,” said Vancouver councillor Andrea Reimer. “We still have some areas where that exists, that might be an opportunity again, if that enforcement opportunity is available to people, which doesn’t yet exist from the Real Estate Council.”
“But as it becomes available, an opportunity to really educate people about what is an appropriate real estate practice.”
