It is believed the homeowner is away on holiday and no one was in the house at the time.

There is no word on how it started.

Crews in Burnaby were busy this morning as they were also on scene at a fire on Kingsway, near 13 Avenue, which has destroyed two businesses.

Correction: An earlier version of this story listed the home to be on Government Street, but the correct address is on Government Road.
