Outdoor skating rink could soon make its way to the Exchange

WINNIPEG — The exchange district could have a skating rink this winter.

The Exchange District Biz is eyeing a skating oval that could also potentially be used for curling at Old Market Square.

The group wants help from the city to design the structure and help with maintenance throughout the winter.

It would be open for 4-6 weeks starting in late December or January if it gets city approval.

The Exchange District Biz says the idea would help make Winnipeg a winter destination and find a use for space that is underutilized in the winter months.
