” I was homeless for 13 years from 74-87 and once I got off the streets, a job, cleaned up, I decided to dedicate my life to being with the homeless,” said Eldridge.

He said he started the Devoted to You Street Ministries because when he was on the streets he doesn’t remember people bringing him food and water to help.

Saturday afternoon Eldridge and friends from his group handed out snacks and water down Henry Street in downtown Winnipeg and will continue to do this whenever they can throughout the summer.

Eldridge believes every gesture counts. A coffee for a homeless person, or even just a wave and a smile.
