Police said a man was apparently displeased that his flight was not operating on time and made a verbal reference to causing damage with explosives.
“We had a call to our security operations center of an incident at a check-in counter of an air carrier,” said Richard Jasieniuk, airport public safety and risk manager.

“At that point, we immediately enacted our response plan. Our contract security guard, an on duty manager and myself responded to the area,”
The 51-year-old man was arrested. Upon being searched, drugs and a significant amount of money were found in his luggage.
“When the officers arrested him, they found him in possession of a substantial amount of money as well as cocaine and methamphetamine,” said Sgt. Lee Jones, with Saskatoon Police Service.
Police would not specify the quantity of money or drugs in possession.

The Saskatoon man was expected to go before a justice of the peace Saturday morning, but police say the Crown has asked for remand and he’ll most likely be in provincial court Monday.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing due to the large amount of cash found on the individual.
