City of Saskatoon officials say an early snow melt and favourable weather have helped crews get ahead of schedule when it comes to pothole and utility cut repairs.
So far 675 utility cut locations have been worked on this season compared to 500 this same time last year.

More than 100,000 potholes have been patched, with crews hoping to repair double that amount before the snow flies.
Plus, officials say as they burn through a backlog of outstanding repairs they can always reallocate resources to areas where they’re falling short.
“if we don’t need the contract resources, you look at scaling those back to save some money there as well, said Trent schmidt, the city’s acting director of public works.
“So we continually monitor and access where we’re at and try to best allocate things as we go throughout the season.”

People are also encouraged to use the city’s report-a-pothole map to report any issues on roadways.c
“Better roads is a top priority for residents and everyone can help by reporting potholes online,” Schmidt said.
“We use the information to prioritize our repair locations and continue to improve our roads throughout the summer.”
