WINNIPEG — Just before noon Thursday, Environment Canada issued a weather advisory for a small portion of southwestern Manitoba.
An upper level disturbance that is tracking along the international border could create conditions that may produce funnel clouds.
The advisory also includes part of southeastern Saskatchewan.
Conditions are set to improve in the evening hours.

These types of funnel clouds are produced by weak thunderstorms and have very weak rotation, which usually indicates they will not normally be a danger near the ground.
Environment Canada does warn though that weak landspout tornadoes could form.
