Second person charged in Saskatoon’s first murder of 2012

Police have charged another 18-year-old Saskatoon man with second-degree murder in Saskatoon’s first murder of 2012. 

This morning, Saskatoon charged an18-year-old man who was already in custody at Saskatoon Correctional Center on unrelated criminal crimes. 

He will appear in provincial court tomorrow morning on the charge along with other unrelated criminal charges.

This is the second person charged in this case. Another 18-year-old Saskatoon man was charged with second-degree murder on July 18th. 

On Febuary 26, 2012, Saskatoon police and firefighters discovered 22-year-old Mervin McAdam’s body in a burnt-out garbage bin fire in the east alley of Avenue S South.  

Police say the two persons of interest were taken into custody shortly after the body was discovered are not the same individuals facing second-degree murder charges in McAdam’s murder.
