Calgary man’s death near Canmore not suspicious: Alberta RCMP

The Alberta RCMP are investigating after a Calgary man died of injuries after falling in the Grassi Lakes area near Canmore on the weekend.

The RCMP were called to help paramedics and Kananaskis Emergency Services at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

“A 53-year-old man from Calgary appeared to have been in the area known as ‘Whiteman’s Gap’ along Highway 742 when he fell,” the RCMP said in a statement. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police said the man’s death is not believed to be suspicious in nature. The name of the man will not be released by police at this time as the investigation continues.
