WINNIPEG — Southern Manitoba may be in store for severe thunderstorms Monday morning and afternoon.

There is chance of large hail and strong winds if the storm develops.

The storm is part of the system that came in from Saskatchewan overnight, which had reports of  baseball size hail. That has prompted Environment Canada to issue a severe thunderstorm watch for southern Manitoba.

On Monday morning thunderstorms developed near Portage la Prairie, which could move east throughout the day.

There is a chance storms may redevelop in the area again Monday afternoon or evening.

It’s also going to be a humid day. The high is expected to reach 28 C, but will feel like 35.
