A man is in hospital this morning after a serious motorcycle accident in Maple Ridge.
Witnesses say the motor bike was fleeing from police for running a red light near 225 Street and Lougheed Highway.
Police say there was no pursuit but the motorcyclist ended up crashing into a car a short distance later, ejecting the rider nearly 50 metres onto the road.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and the man was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital.
There is no word on his current condition.
Four cars were damaged in the high-speed crash.
