Mount Baldy sold!

OLIVER — Mount Baldy has a new owner.

The Oliver area ski hill has been in receivership the past two years.

The receiver says a numbered company has purchased the ski hill and will operate under Mount Baldy Ski Resort.

Officials say it will be a four-seasons resort and will be managed by experienced resort operator Joey O’Brien.

Talks with the new owner have been going on since January of this year and that the new owner has signed a so-called benefits agreement with the Osoyoos Indian Band.

The resort hopes to be up and running in time for the upcoming ski season.

In December of 2015, there were reports that the ski hill had been sold but the deal fell through.
