Bid to reduce Calgary street parking fees fizzles

A bid to cut on-street parking by a quarter of the cost didn't even get off the ground Monday. Ald. John Mar's motion to reconsider on-street parking fees, part of what he said were some of the highest parking charges in North America, failed to get the 10 votes needed to even allow council to start debating the issue.
