Beaumont RCMP said Friday they have arrested a suspect in connection with the assault of a teen earlier this week.
Officers said the suspect is a youth, so their identity will not be released.
The young person has been charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder.

The suspect was identified after police interviewed several other youths who witnessed the assault, RCMP said.
The arrest comes after a teenage boy was sent to hospital early Tuesday morning after he was found with serious head injuries in the area of Rideau Crescent in Beaumont.
Officers were called to the area at around 1:35 a.m. Tuesday. The severely injured victim was found outside.

Initially, police did not know who the victim was, but he was identified on Wednesday. The teen’s name and age have not been released.
Beaumont is located just south of Edmonton.
