A teenage boy was sent to hospital after he was found with serious head injuries in a community south of Edmonton early Tuesday morning.
RCMP were called to the area of Rideau Crescent in Beaumont, where they found a “severely injured” youth.

Police said the exact extent of the injuries aren’t yet known, nor is the victim’s identity.
On Tuesday afternoon, police released a description of the boy they found in an attempt to trigger help from the public in terms of his identity and what happened to him.
On Wednesday, the RCMP said they had identified the teen.
Police are continuing to investigate who may be responsible for the assault.
