Security checks to double after razor blades found in Regina pool

REGINA – The city of Regina says it is increasing security at its public pools after razor blades were found embedded in a water slide.

Community services spokesman Chris Holden says nightly checks will double in the remaining week before outdoor pools close for the season.

Staff who clean parks and splash pads have also been told to watch for any dangerous materials.

Holden doesn’t expect the extra security will come with any significant added cost.

The razor blades were discovered at the Dewdney pool on Sunday.

The pool was thoroughly checked before it was reopened to the public.

Police say they haven’t received a single tip.
