Woman charged after Saskatoon cab driver assaulted

A woman is facing charges after a Saskatoon taxi driver was assaulted on Wednesday.

Police say the cabbie picked up the woman, along with a man, near the downtown bus terminal and proceeded to take them to a west-side address.

There was a dispute over the fare once they arrived at the destination.

According to police, the woman grabbed the taxi drivers’ neck and brandished a knife.

The man restrained the woman and threw the knife out of the cab.

No injuries were reported.

The 32-year-old Saskatoon woman is facing assault with a weapon and obtaining transportation by fraud charges.
