Recently Burger King began to sell Oscar Mayer hot dogs and Whopperritos (a Whopper-burrito hybrid) south of the border, but they took things to a whole new level this week as they introduced Mac ’n Cheetos to the world.
Mac n’ Cheetos consist of a deep fried macaroni and cheese stick coated in a Cheetos-flavoured breading.
They will be available for eight weeks in the United States or until Burger King runs out of stock. The Mac n’ Cheetos cost $2.49US for a five-pack with a reported calorie count of 310. Each cheesy delicacy is similar in size to a mozzarella stick.
PepsiCo, which owns the Cheetos brand in the U.S., began to collaborate with Burger King on the product over a year ago, according to Bloomberg. The pair is looking to bring more product to the table in the future.
“We’re working on a few other menu items,” Alex Macedo, president of Burger King North America, said in an interview with Bloomberg. “There’s room for us to do more together in the future.”
The company has already rolled out the product in certain markets and the early reviews have been somewhat positive.
