It’s summer in Edmonton and you’re down at the K-Days midway enjoying a few rides and games when your stomach starts to rumble. You could stop and grab a bag of mini doughnuts or a corn dog to curb that hunger, but why not step out of your comfort zone and try something a little bit different?
There are plenty of new food options being offered down at K-Days this summer. Here’s a closer look:
Rainbow grilled cheese
This fruit-infused grilled cheese sandwich uses blueberry, strawberry and kiwi string cheese to turn a tasty classic into a colourful treat.
Poutine corn dog
A mixture of two delicious dishes, the poutine corn dog takes a hot dog, hash brown potatoes and cheese and dips it in batter to deep fry it like a corn dog.

Described as a “classic rice pudding with an Asian flare, this dish comes with coconut rice topped with Oreos.
Churro stuffed Oreo “corn dog”
Not exactly a corn dog per se, this Oreo cookie treat is dipped in batter, fried and served with Oreo cream icing.
Mac ‘n cheese stuffed burger
Who doesn’t love macaroni and cheese? So why not put it into a beef patty and see what happens? That’s exactly what’s happened with this midway meal.
Bacon mac ‘n cheese super foot-long hot dog
Just when you thought you couldn’t put anything more on a hot dog, this foot-long weiner comes piled with creamy macaroni and cheese and centre-cut bacon.

Meatball sub on a stick
Meatballs and mozzarella cheese baked in dough, served on a stick with marinara sauce.
The Reese Oreo
This treat takes a Reese’s peanut butter cup and sandwiches it between two Oreo cookies. It’s then cooked until it’s gooey enough to eat.

The yummy tummy is Hong Kong-style eggs, waffles and ice cream with your choice of toppings.
The western duck
This duck confit poutine is served with roasted garlic, caramelized onions and dijon mustard.
