Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan Valley, Shuswap and Similkameen warning of high temperatures through the weekend.
A strong upper ridge of high pressure has settled over B.C. and daytime temperatures are expected to stay in the mid to high 30’s.

The hot weather will continue until early next week, which is when the ridge breaks down to allow cooler air over the province.
