Less than a week after her shocking death, former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was laid to rest Thursday in an intimate New Jersey funeral service.

A funeral attendee revealed to People magazine that the service was private and small, an “intimate gathering for her family and close friends.”

The entire service was paid for by Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, who was Grimmie’s coach when she competed on Season 6 of The Voice.

Grimmie’s burial follows Monday’s candlelight vigil, also held in New Jersey, where hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their respects.

“She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was my baby sister,” said her older brother, Marcus Grimmie.

Grimmie fans who happen to be in her home state on Friday can attend a public memorial in Medford, N.J., from 3 to 8 p.m. ET. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m.

The 22-year-old died after being shot following a performance in Orlando on Friday, according to her publicist.

At a news conference late Friday, police officials said Grimmie was shot around 10:45 p.m. local time at The Plaza Live, where she had performed with the band Before You Exit earlier that night.

Police said the suspect shot Grimmie after her show, while merchandise was being sold and autographs signed. Officials also said that Grimmie’s brother tackled the shooter who then shot himself.
