Symphony music combined with a warm summer evening spent in a park; that is what audiences at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Free Symphony at the Park will be treated to this July.

The annual outdoor concert returns to Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park on July 10, 2016 for an evening of classical and modern jams, including music from the latest Star Wars, and compositions from Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Strauss, and others. The orchestra will be led by conductor Tania Miller.

This year’s show is free to attend and to beat the crowds, organizers advise guests arrive one to two hours early to reserve their spot on the lawn.

To make it a true picnic in the park, guests are welcome to bring drinks, snacks, lawn chairs, and blankets.

The event typically draws thousands from around the region.
