Protesters want Vancouver mayor to make city a ‘John Free Zone’

Protesters gathered at Vancouver City Hall demanding action from the mayor on prostitution and human trafficking.

The demonstrators are urging Mayor Gregor Robertson to make Vancouver a ‘John Free Zone’, saying it is time to penalize the johns and pimps to protect women.

“This isn’t just an issue that impacts prostituted women, of course they are the most impacted because they are the one’s being exploited and abused, but this issue impacts all women because a society that allows women to be bought and sold is not a society that values women’s lives or our humanity,” said Jindi Mehat from Creating John Free Communities.
