Neglected Victoria Shih Tzu ‘Tiny’ improving: SPCA

A severely neglected pooch in Victoria is making baby steps toward recovery.

Tiny, the 10-year-old Shih Tzu, still has to be force fed and take many medications, but caregivers say she is now able to walk onto her bed and dig around a bit, before curling up.

They say that’s a sign of increased awareness from the emaciated, dehydrated dog – who was covered with open sores when she was found by a Good Samaritan on a Victoria street.

Animal Protection Worker Erika Paul says the SPCA is still considering whether to lay animal cruelty charges against the dog’s owners.
