KELOWNA–The GolfBC group says $150,000 was raised for charity at the inaugural GolfBC Championship at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club in Kelowna.
The tournament wrapped up on Sunday.
The Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada event raised $75,000 which was matched by the Chan Family Foundation, GolfBC’s charitable arm, for a total of $150,000 for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the reception we received from golf fans in the Okanagan Valley, along with terrific sponsors and volunteers. We are especially happy about the tremendous contribution made to the BC Cancer Foundation with the outstanding support of GolfBC. The inaugural GolfBC Championship was a great success,” said Tournament Director Hugh Vassos.
