KidsFest kicks off at The Forks

WINNIPEG — Comedians, contortionists and plenty more performers from across North America are in Winnipeg for KidsFest.

The 34th annual event kicks off 10 a.m. Thursday and runs until Sunday evening by around The Forks main stage area.

You can except to see Manitoba comedian Al Simmons, musician Fred Penner, Pennsylvania contortionist Jonathan Burns, an aerial acrobatic show from Ontario and more.

There are also swinging trapeze and cirque workshops along with hoop dancing classes.

On Friday there is an after hours event for adults starting at 7:30 p.m. with live performances, a photo booth and auctions.
