GRAND FORKS–The Gilpin Fire burning near Highway 3 between Grand Forks and Christina Lake is now 25 per cent contained.
According to the B.C. Wildfire Service website, it’s still burning 224 hectares.

The wildfire is not currently threatening any structures or communities, but it is near Highway 3, and highly visible.
Drivers should expect heavy smoke and visibility issues between Grand Forks and Christina Lake.
Precipitation and cooler temperatures are forecast for the area on Wednesday.
Crews are conducting burn-off operations to secure containment lines.
Resources on scene include 64 firefighters, three helicopters and three pieces of heavy equipment.
