Moose Jaw Police are warning drivers to lock their vehicles after a dramatic increase in thefts compared to last year.
According to officers, there were 72 reported cases of items being stolen from vehicles in May 2016, which is a 260 per cent increase from the same time last year. Only 20 incidents were reported in May 2015.
Police say the vast majority of vehicles entered were left unlocked and items stolen included computers, cellphones and GPS devices.
Police also say thieves are looking for garage door openers to gain access to garages or homes.
Drivers are urged to remove all valuables when leaving their vehicle and always lock the doors and trunk.
