The photo from the Nevada Department of Corrections features Simpson wearing a green shirt in front of a red background. The 68-year-old has mostly grey hair and a slight grin on his face.

Simpson is serving a sentence of nine to 33 years in a Nevada prison for a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping conviction. He is eligible for parole next year.

The pro football hall of famer was acquitted in 1995 for the killings of ex-wife Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ronald Goldman but later found liable for the deaths in a civil case. The criminal case has drawn renewed interest this year after being featured in the FX drama, The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
