Saskatoon house fire caused by night light overheating

An investigator says a night light overheated and caused a house fire on Saturday. At around 1 p.m. CT, the Saskatoon Fire Department were called to 247 Konihowski Road.

Upon arrival, crews found light smoke coming from the home. They were told all occupants had evacuated the home.

Firefighters entered and found a fire in an upstairs bedroom. They extinguished the blaze and confirmed no one else was in the house.

A fire investigator attended the scene and determined the blaze to be accidental in nature.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

No injuries were reported.
