It’s being called a good idea, just not in the right location.
A proposed amphitheatre behind Okanagan College’s Vernon Campus, slated to hold 5,500 concert goers is a no-go Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster announced Wednesday.

“I feel that an amphitheatre at that location would degrade the quality of life for residents who live near the campus,” said Foster. “I made my feelings – and the feelings of local residents – clear to the Ministry of Advanced Education that this project should not go ahead, and the ministry agreed.”
Since the amphitheatre is proposed to be built on crown land, the province has the final say.
