Quebec’s largest student group CLASSE unveils election strategy

That was the message conveyed to media Friday afternoon during a news conference at which CLASSE unveiled its plan of attack for the coming month.

Spokespersons Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois and Camille Robert also said CLASSE won’t be interfering in its member association’s general assemblies, which will start Aug. 7.

The general assemblies are the forums during which students will decide whether to continue boycotting their classes.

They are being held before the school year begins, Nadeau-Dubois said, to avoid confusion once the semester starts.

Their goal for their next monthly protest, which will take place Aug. 22, is to make it “the biggest protest in an election period in Quebec history,” Robert said.

CLASSE is also planning on holding a concert where various artists, activists and musicians will be invited to “encourage” the student movement.
