A candidate running for the chairman of the Libertarian Party did more than drop out of the race over the weekend – he also dropped his pants on live TV during the party’s national convention.

James Weeks took to the stage to support the party’s vice-president during Libertarian Party national convention in Orlando on Sunday, when he told members “I figured we could use a little bit of fun.”

Weeks began leading cheering attendees in clapping and dancing before he unexpectedly stripped off his suit, shirt and tie during the convention’s live broadcast on C-Span.

The bizarre display quickly lead to catcalls, followed by boos.

Weeks responded to the crowd by saying “I’m sorry; that was a dare,” before announcing he was dropping out of the race to become party chairman.
