The City of Saskatoon says power was knocked out at 11:50 a.m. CT by road construction work hitting an underground power network.

The city said they were working to isolate the problem and hope to have power restored between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

A number of businesses have indicated on social media that they will remain closed for the rest of the day and employees at Midtown Plaza have reached out to Global News and said they have been sent home.
